NAGBUKEL, ILOCOS SUR — Prioritizing the health and well-being of every family, the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Nagbukel, in partnership with the Department of Health (DOH), conducted a comprehensive community health outreach in Barangay Bandril this week.

The initiative is part of the local government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that high-quality medical services are accessible even at the grassroots level. By bringing frontline health workers directly to the barangay, the program aims to increase healthcare coverage and address the immediate medical needs of the residents.

Key Services Provided:

  • Maternal & Child Health: Essential Immunizations and Weighing and Monitoring were conducted to ensure the proper growth and protection of children.
  • Reproductive Wellness: Expectant and new mothers received Prenatal Check-ups and Postpartum Visits to monitor their recovery and overall health.
  • Barangay Health Station (BHS) Monitoring: Regular inspections and technical assistance were provided to the local BHS to maintain high standards of service delivery.
  • Environmental Health: A significant highlight was the G2 (Grade 2) Basic Sanitation Monitoring, a key component of the Philippine Approach to Sustainable Sanitation (PhATSS). This ensures that households maintain functional sanitary toilets and proper waste management for long-term community health.

Through these consistent community visits, the LGU of Nagbukel and the RHU continue to build a stronger, more resilient municipality—one barangay at a time.

“Our mission is to bring the heart of the government closer to the people. By ensuring our puroks are healthy and sanitized, we are securing a brighter future for the next generation of Nagbukelenos.”
